Mary’s Place Child Care Centre

Main Content

Our newest centre called "Mary’s Place", is set to open in late 2024. This child care facility will provide care for infants to preschool children and will be located at George Brown College’s Limberlost Place, Waterfront Campus.

Limberlost Place is designed by Moriyama & Teshima Architects and Acton Ostry Architects Inc.  and is the pinnacle for sustainable and green building innovation in Canada. Limberlost Place is truly ‘Made in Canada’, with all mass wood components being sourced nationally. The design provides generous spaces focused on wellbeing and sustainability. The building form and façade are shaped to maximize access to natural light and fresh air. Two solar chimneys located on the east and west facades will be used to create a sustainable system of natural convection, drawing air up and through the building from operable windows.

Located in close proximity to our Daphne Cockwell Centre for Health Sciences, Mary’s Place will be poised to develop interprofessional relationships with students, staff and faculty from our School of Dental Health, School of Health and Wellness, School of Health Services Management and Sally Horsfall Eaton School of Nursing.

Our centre serves as a model lab school for the diploma and degree programs in the School of Early Childhood and provides a training ground where college students are supported in developing their skills in working with children and families as they complete the hands-on component of their academic program.
